CoopeVictoria is a Costa Rican agro-industrial cooperative located in Grecia in the Central Valley of Costa Rica. It was founded in 1943 and now has over 3000 small farmers growing, processing, and exporting Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified coffee and organic sugar cane.
Gender equality, union recognition, and no child labour are all guaranteed under Fairtrade. Fairtrade enables workers to earn a living wage, while investing social premium payments to benefit the wider community like a health centre, a school for migrant coffee pickers’ children, and planting trees.
Strong environmental and sustainability policies ensure that there are no harmful agricultural practices.
Monte Camejo, is the flagship of 8 types of coffees grown. CoopeVictoria has won the “Golden Cup” award for the best coffee in Costa Rica three years running.
